Citizens of Humanity Mandy High Waist Slim Roll Up

The trend for denim with designs is definitely growing weve been seeing more and more printed denim (particularly with floral prints dominating the look right now for 2012!) come from all different brands, including the Citizens of Humanity jeans (at left) and Motels Skinny Jean (below).

Is this look for everyone? Instincts say no. Its definitely a bit more dramatic than most styles, and is best paired with the longer, tunic styles or looser-fitting tops/tees and simple shoes (flats or heels, probably not boots).

Kate Murphy from ‘Body of Proof’

When costume designer Susanna Puisto was brought onto the ABC drama ‘Body of Proof’ this season, she began using color to make sure Kate Murphy (Jeri Ryan) had a look all her own.

“There wasn’t enough definition in the characters,” Puisto says. “Jeri should be a Hitchcock blonde. Dana (Delany, who plays Megan) gets the jewel tones, and Jeri gets the creams, the grays, the pale pastels, some muted colors. There’s very much a separation in the colors so they are their own characters, very distinct and defined.”

Puisto’s goal when dressing Kate is to achieve a classic, timeless look.

“Kate is a classy lady,” she says. “Her style is very easy and simple. She is not trying too hard.

The Panel: Best hair repair products

So it’s all over bar the few stray pine needles in the carpet, which are as frazzled, dried-out and sapped of colour as your poor hair, post-Christmas.

All that styling and blow-drying, straightening one night and then curling the next, takes a terrible toll, and now it’s time to give a little back to your crowning glory. Think of it as the first of your New Year’s Resolutions and one that, with our help, won’t be too hard to keep.

If you went to town on your hair over the festive season, an extra dollop of your day-to-day conditioner just won’t do it. Straw-like hair needs a good mask — all the better if you use one of the January nights in to leave it on while you watch telly — and if you need to keep using the hair dryer, then you need a heatprotection product, too. Think of both

“The best year ever!” “The best day ever!” and other bridal resolutions for 2012

With your list of New Years resolutions pocketed in your new Prada handbag , or filed in your office desk, or saved on your iPad2, it is already time to pause, and take note of the momentum towards your goal. Or, has it already taken a brief lull, before charging on, or coming to a perennial 363 day hiatus?

While you evaluate, I offer some personal 2012 resolutions, and an inspirational idiom, served up by my best friend who, alas, recognizes I do not make resolutions, and trying to get me to make a list is, quite frankly, pointless, . She took a different tack, and in her customary understated wisdom, offered me my New Years Resolution in one phrase, right after midnight.

Billy The Exterminator Steaming Bed Bugs In Florida

Hairy Bed Bugs

Since my own hairy encounter with a bed bug infested hotel room in West Hollywood some years ago, Ive been researching and writing about the little bloodsuckers.

And yes,  Ive experienced a few bouts of passing paranoia over my close call where I literally escaped with my blood intact.

Unfortunately, bed bugs are an increasing problem which some bed bug experts label as epidemic.  Even A&Es Billy The Exterminator had an episode dedicated to battling a major bed bug infestation in Florida.

It was very informative, but still creepy.  Billy used scalding hot steamers to kill the bugs, but it was noted that it is an ongoing process that is not cleared with one treatment.

As the bed bug population has exploded, a lot of  misinformation has followed.  Luckily the U.S. Envi
